McCallum Helps to Win Stem Cell Case
Publication: Erie Review Date: 2004
Erie resident Jennifer McCallum , principal of Erie-based McCallum Law Firm, a biotechnology patent firm, helped argue a case in Superior Court of Orange County, Calif., that makes private storage of stem cells available to all expectant parents.
McCallum successfully argued that the lawsuit directly attacked a parent’s right to choose for themselves whether or not to store their child’s umbilical cord blood as a source of stem cells for future therapeutic use.
McCallum has received numerous awards and accolades in her field, including an appointment by Gov. Bill Owens to the Biotechnology Council for the State of Colorado.
